Movement
In Ancient Egypt, there had to be a way to travel around. Luckily, the Egyptians had this great Nile River to travel on. They mainly traveled by river, in papyrus rafts, but sometimes they traveled by walking or by chariots and carts on a road or path. But how did they move such big items, or large amounts of people, on such small rafts or chariots? The Ancient Egyptians had very large rafts, that were made specifically for the purpose of shipping, to move large amounts of people and items all over Africa. They had a canal for shipping, called the Shipping Canal, that connected the Nile River and the Red Sea. Ideas traveled from country to country through travel on the Nile River, chariot, and walking. For example, the invention of papyrus paper spread to China a few thousand years after it was invented.
